Concept of 'Fence'

The glass planes of both sided of a parallel escalator is painted with
the yellow and black stripes. The caution sign, usually illustrates with
yellow and black diagonal stripes. The yellow line on the steps of escalator
indicates the edges and the handrail of the escalator normally is in
black colour. The colour that associates with the caution, as well as
the colour of escalator, are being emphasized and used in this work.

Although the up side and down side are placed next to each other,
pedestrians are not supposed to cross over between the handrail
for the safety reason, as suggests from the title of the work, Fence.
As the pedestrians are being carrying up or down between floors,
the yellow and black stripes on the glass planes are moving
towards them. When they’re going up, the yellow stripes are
moving down towards them.
